A message from the FCSM 2020 Conference Steering Committee.
Thanks to everyone who submitted abstracts, developed the program or otherwise contributed to the 2020 FCSM Research and Policy Conference. And thanks to all the registrants who were looking forward to an exciting and stimulating event. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made a difficult decision: there will be no April 2020 event, in-person or virtual. Your health and safety is a top priority, and since a majority of attendees are federal employees, we recognize their focus is necessarily on mission critical activities (per OMB Guidance, M-20-16).
This fall we plan to hold a smaller event focused on The Evidence Act, taking advantage of at least some of the efforts assembling timely and relevant sessions. Registrations will be automatically transferred to the new event; you will be able to transfer your registration to a colleague if you are not able to attend. Details about the event and registration will be provided as soon as available.
We deeply appreciate the hard work that many of you put into the conference. We encourage you to look for other opportunities to share your work; the strength of the Federal Statistical System relies on the type of innovation and cutting-edge research that was evident throughout the program. On your behalf, we will share the program with WSS and DC-AAPOR and encourage them to consider new events. Additionally, feel free to reach out to those and other organizations if you’re interested in working with them.
