AAPOR President, Patricia Moy, recognizes COPAFS in her Presidential Address at the 77th AAPOR Annual Conference.
In her Presidential Address entitled, “Voice: A Privilege and an Obligation,” AAPOR President, Patricia Moy, recognized COPAFS and other organizations as a partner in keeping AAPOR up to date on developments which impact the public opinion profession. The Presidential Address was delivered at the AAPOR 77th Annual Conference in Chicago, IL on May 12, 2022. The full address was subsequently published in the Fall 2022 edition of Public Opinion Quarterly.
An except from the speech reads:
AAPOR’s exercising of voice does not need to be a solitary effort, and in many instances, it has not been. Our ties and overlapping missions with sister organizations such as the World Association for Public Opinion Research, the American Statistical Association, and the European Survey Research Association allow us to find strength in numbers. Our ties to COSSA (the Consortium of Social Science Associations) and COPAFS (Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics) allow us to keep abreast of and respond to developments that impact our profession.
