Along with the Census Project, COPAFS shares concerns about the level of funding provided in the 2025 Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations bill on July 9, 2024. The letter asks that funding be increased so Census can adequately plan for the 2030 decennial and asks that Section 621 be taken our of the bill. This provision would limit contact attempts to 2 per household for the decennial and other surveys such as the ACS. This would yield completes with 28% of US households based on data from the 2020 decennial.
